Project Reflection
BNW Project Reflection
My greatest challenge in this project was was finishing my writing piece on time. I found this to be my issue because I was having troubles tying up the loose ends and I just wanted to keep writing. This is the first writing project ever that I had this issued on and I like this. Because of this I had to stay up very late each night to finish the project on time.
I have grown in many ways throughout this project. I have been able to understand that most books have ideas that pertain to our world in many ways. I have also seen things that I have been conditioned to do. Such as putting the milk away sometimes I don’t even remember doing it. This means that I can now decide about things with a clear mind.
What I want to remember as a sophomore is all that I have learned and socially gained this year. What I mean by this is that I want to keep my over all composure and ease with talking to strangers. I also have learned how to be sophisticated and well mannered. I think this will help me for years to come and make me more confident.
I believe that I am most proud of my art piece and how it has turned out. I put many hours into the creation and even restarted it so that I got the type of art that I wanted. This has taught me how to persevere when I used to give up and hand in the lesser work. I hope that I can take this intuitive in the rest of my life.

Model United NAtions
In this project we were asked to study a current topic. Once we did this we studied how the UN worked and tried to fallow what they did. In this conference I was A chair because of this I had Different responsibilities then the rest of the class. I had to lead the conference and help keep track of comments and speaking times. I would like to thank the parents and teachers who came to support us on the night of our conference.

Issue brief
Background
In between World War 1 and 2 the Zionists (Jewish people returning to the home land) began to return to Palestine to claim their rightful place. In 1948 the Jewish People’s Council met and declared Israel an official state. This nation was created for Jewish people so that they would have a place to escape persecution. The Jewish people believe it has a great significance to their religion as there “Holy Land”. Because of the religious significance they were allowed “The right of return.” In 1947 the General Assembly adopted a resolution to partition Palestine. The very next day there was wide spread violence. Through the 1950’s there were over 15,000 casualties.
In the Israel Palestine conflict, there have been over five million Palestinian refugees. In 1948, 711,000 out of 900,00 Palestinians either fled or were forced to leave their homes. The people who left willingly believed that the Arab Nation would win and they would be granted the right of return. Now that the Arab Nation has not won there are close to 100,000 refugees. When Haganah went on the defensive another 250,000 to 300,000 Palestinians left. Also after this incident there were many small scale expulsions. If the Arabs were not willing to leave, the IDF soldiers would carry them out of their houses. After the six day war There were another 300,000 refugees and two refugee camps that were already set up were “emptied”. In total there is close to 5 million refugees.
Question to Consider
Possible solutions
Wrap up
All in all this is going to be a conflict that is hard to resolve. This is because it has been going on for so long, and both countries believe that the land is right fully theirs. Even if we can come to a resolution the countries involved might disagree and revolt with more violence. They have tried many times to resolve this by giving a percentage of land to each country but each time the Arab Nation rejected it. I believe that the Israeli people will never let go of this land because of the great significance it holds for them.

Question to Consider
- Do the Palestinians have the right to return based on human rights?
- Do the Israelis have the right to claim there “Homeland”?
- Is this a conflict that the UN should interferer in?
- Is there any fair way to split the country?
- Is there any other way to resolve this conflict?
- Is there any resolution that the Arab Nation will agree with that does not give them all the land?
Possible solutions
- We could let Israel and Palestine figure it out on there own.
- We could use military force to settle this conflict .
- We could help mediate discussions between the two countries.
- We could give places for the refugees to flee to.

Project reflection
Project Reflections
A piece of advice I would give to in coming students is that you should always get your work done on time. If you procrastinate then all your work is delayed and rushed. The more your work is rushed the lower the quality. Also I would suggest using all your resources and find your own, use everything you can. Also read about the topic of discussion the more you understand the better off you will be overall.
I am most proud of my perseverance in this conference. I believe that I exhibited perseverance in that when I encountered I did not persevered through and figured out what to say. I also believe that my co-chair and I used great collaboration. When either of us did not know what to do we would consult each other and come to a good solution.
If I could do anything differently it would be the fact that slacked a little at the beginning. This hurt me in the first couple weeks because I was having to put of other work to finish the work that I had not done at the beginning and fell father behind. Then I worked hard one weekend and got caught up. I would have liked to miss the whole ordeal.
The most Interesting speech given at this Model UN was the one given Marianne Brown. Her speech was full of ideas and facts. She had so much to add to the conference and she was confident and able to say her speech fluidly. It was powerful and it changed my perspective on the issue. As a chair I was forced to cut her of mid-speech because it pushed the time allotted for speeches. She was also able to answer all of the comments completely and quickly.

Greek tragedy play project
In this project we were asked to make a play or book about our chosen social issue. In this project we learned about greek tragedies and how you can get your point across and have it stick with people. We also learned about how to develop characters so that they became people not just things.

Greek play reflection
I am most proud of that I was able to figure out how to make imovie work for stop motion. I am proud of this because it was a challenge for me to even start this project let alone figure out how to make it run smoothly. This took at least three hours to get the hang of.
The struggles that I couldn’t contact him over the weekend because of issues that he had so I was forced to do the bulk of the work. These issues where I believe out of his control but still it was tough being stuck with all the work. The thing about having this partner that I like was that he put the idea forward in the first place and I would have never thought to do this.
What I would have done as an individual to make this project better is I might have tried to keep my partner on focus so that we could have gotten more work done in school. I also would have tried to refine my project and try to redo parts that where not the best they could be.
Some advice I would give to incoming freshmen to succeed is that you should plan out your time and stick to that plan no matter what. Also I would say choose your partners wisely. If you know this person wont work then don’t choose them.
